Anxious, Tired, Stressed or Ill?
You and your health are important to us. We hope you’ll find useful information here to support your search for wellness through herbal therapies, the integration of natural and conventional medicine, naturopathic treatments and homeopathy.
For many years scientific medicine has been the healthcare model adopted by first world countries, but for centuries, without access to modern resources, healing herbal remedies were the only recourse. Now, due to increasing dissatisfaction with government-funded medical services and the treatments provided by their doctors, people are returning to these herbal and naturopathic treatments to find a cure.
Unfortunately, doctors are often the last to know that their patients are receiving natural or herbal treatment as patients are often reluctant to tell them. This is unfortunate as it would otherwise be an ideal opportunity for conventional doctors to work with homeopathic or natural medicine practitioners for the benefit of their shared patient.
The reluctance by GPs to accept homeopathic or herbal therapies has come from an outmoded belief that there is no scientific support for natural treatments. This may have been the case 20 or 30 years ago but more recently there has been much more documented study of the positive outcomes of natural medicine and the use of healing herbs.
There are obvious political and financial issues involved, with the billion-dollar profits of pharmaceutical companies versus the multibillion dollar public expenditure on naturopathic, homeopathic and herbal therapies. Data from the National Health Interview Survey in the US (2007) reveals that 38% of adults spent $34 billion on homeopathy, herbal remedies and naturopathic practitioners, in that year alone.
Herbal Remedies Treat Anxiety and other Common Conditions
The purpose of this website is to provide information about available natural and herbal therapies – and lifestyle and diet – for common conditions that respond well to herbal remedies. Anxiety and panic attacks, stress related disorders and many other conditions can be controlled or cured through the use of herbal supplements. The natural treatments we suggest are based on the experience of many integrated medicine physicians and have been reviewed by our medical director, Dr. Chris Dawkins, to ensure they are appropriate for the conditions mentioned. Dr. Dawkins has personally used these herbal treatments in his own integrated medicine practice.
